“we are family”

I first fell in love with this lil’ family when we had such a blast shooting their engagement/family session back in November. I could not wait for this day to come and it finally did! On July 13, 2008, in front of their beloved family & friends at the lovely Tustin Ranch Golf Course, Trish & Matt showed everyone what it meant to be in love and what it meant to be a part of a special family. From Matt reading the cutest, sweetest vows to Trish’s son Raymond to Trish’s eyes swelling up with tears of happiness as her father spoke of how he was so proud of her – I found it hard not cry as I was snapping away.  Their wedding theme was “lucky in love”, but with each moment, I feel more and more like the lucky one for being part of such a wonderful day for such a wonderful family. Trish, Matt & Raymond – thank you for having me there to witness the laughter, smiles & tears. I hope to be there for many more precious moments! =) xoxo, Kim Le

My absolute favorite part of the ceremony was when Matt read vows to Raymond! He promised they would have lots of fun together. I think my heart just melted at that moment.

“one sweet day”

There was a slight overcast all throughout the day, but everything was just perfect for Jessica & Brian’s wedding day. All the details were perfectly in place – a gorgeous view of Dana Point Harbor, a beachy-island theme to match the couple’s easy going & spirited nature and of course the love & support of family & friends. The day and details were so carefully coordinated by the fabulous Amanda of In The Now Weddings and Events.  Jessica & Brian wore the bluest of blues and the happiest of smiles. They have such a refreshing love and undeniable connection. There’s no doubt that there are many more perfect days ahead for these two =).

kim le’s korner #6

“buzzin’”

  • Tuesday was more than just about tacos for me this week =). On Tuesday, the bf and I went to the Coldplay concert at the Forum. Coldplay’s set was incredible and made the even the run-down Forum light up. My favorite part was when Coldplay actually went into the top section and performed among their fans.

  • Now that “The Bachelorette” is over, my latest TV obsessions are: “ So You Think You Can Dance?“, “ America’s Best Dance Crew“, “ Jon & Kate Plus 8” and almost anything on the Food Network. Have you seen Jon & Kate Plus 8 on TLC??? Can you believe that this couple under 30 has 8 so-well behaved kids?!!! I’m sooo amazed by that show!! And I know what you’re thinking, “how does she have so much time to watch so much TV?!?” Actually, I don’t! My DVR takes care of everything! I got home the other day and my DVR said only 1% available! I was sooo scared! And my latest not-so-good-for-me-obsession is watching TV from 12am-2pm before I fall asleep. I know – it’s sooo bad, but sooo good!!!

  • This past weekend the bf and I went down to Coronado in San Diego for a friend’s wedding and some much needed R&R. We ventured to the beautiful Hotel del Coronadoand just enjoyed the relaxing ocean breeze and warm sand. Of course, here’s a pic of my flip flops in the sand:

“new soul”

I was thrilled when Wendi & Dustin asked me to take photographs of their newborn baby. If you have been following my blog, you know that I owe the world to Wendi & Dustin. They believed in me when I was just starting out in the business and thanks to their kind words and endless support, I have received countless referrals and opportunities. A lot has happened in the past year not only for me, but Wendi & Dustin as well! They were married and now welcomed baby DJ into their family. I am truly fortunate to witness all their new beginnings and document every step of the way.

“here we go again”

Following a quick wardrobe change and an amazing shoot at the Bradbury Building, Virginia & Brian and I scouted downtown Los Angeles for the second part of our e-session.  In the midst of the skyscrapers and city bustle, we found the intimate and picturesque Maguire Park near the Central Library. With another set of carefully coordinated outfits – Virginia wearing another one of her glamorous creations and Brian in his matching grey tie and Chuck Taylors, the stage was set for another stylish photo shoot.

“g-l-a-m-o-r-o-u-s”

After countless phone calls and emails, Virginia & Brian had finally tugged on the right strings and we were fortunate to shoot their incredible e-session at the historic Bradbury Building in downtown Los Angeles. We incorporated some of beauty of the building and a whole lotta glamour from Virginia & Brian. Our shoot was so amazing and fun that I couldn’t narrow down my fave photos and had to separate the session into two posts – so stay tuned for part II! Thanks to Virginia & Brian for being the so resilient, prepared and utterly fabulous!!!

“if i had eyes”

This week: short & sweet (like me=))

  • Ok I’m so sorry for being such a bad blogger lately but I do have a good reason!! I scratched both of my eye corneas a few weeks ago and it has been taking forever to heal. I have to wear my bottlecap glasses most of the time, have 3 prescription eye drops and still can’t be in front of the computer for long periods of time. Can you say workers compensation??? I guess not since I work for myself. =(

  • I promise this is the last post regarding “ The Bachelorette“, since the finale was last week =). I kinda had this feeling she was going to pick Jesse even though ABC tried tricking us as usual. I was happy for them for a second and then they got all cheesy and I was seriously grossed out, especially during the “After the Final Rose” episode where they were all over each other. They even set a wedding date already! Hmmm…I wonder if they need a wedding photographer… =) And I wonder if Graham will be invited and I’m there to take pics of his hotness…hmmm…

  • Hope everyone had a good 4th of July! All I did was eat, eat some more and then eat again. Tacos, korean BBQ, crab, hamburgers, you name it – I ate it – twice! =) Then we went and watched the not-so-great fireworks at my Alma Mater – Tustin High. Actually we parked at the local Starbucks and watched them while sipping our Starbucks Doubleshot over Ice. I was disappointed by the “finale” which only lasted about a minute. And there were no smiley face fireworks which are my fave. I guess we are in a recession. But then again I was too full to really care. My tummy was all smiles =).

“when i grow up”

Here it goes….

  • The latest craze on the internet and YouTube is this ongoing online danceoff between Miley Cyrus (yes, Hannah Montana) and her friend Mandy versus a group is led by Jon Chu, who directed the dance flick Step Up 2: The Streets and Adam Sevani who also acted in the film. Miley & Mandy are calling themselves “M&M” while Chu and company are calling themselves “ACDC”. A lil’ confusing but the YouTube videos are sooo entertaining, well choregraphed and features some insane dancing! They are also filled with cameos from street dancers and celebrities such as Chris Brown, Lindsay Lohan and Joey Fatone (yes Joey Fatone of N’sync – isn’t that enough to make you wanna watch??? =)). Anyway, the battle continues so check it out! It’s crazeeee!!!

  • I had a blast shooting last week’s engagement session – can’t wait to share some teasers on my blog!

  • As if last week’s episode of “ The Bachelorette” wasn’t shocking enough, Deanna lays another stunner by kicking off Jeremy aka “Mr. Perfect” this week. I guess he is a lil’ creepy even with his perfect abs. At least I got to see Graham again on the “Men Tell All” episode.

  • I don’t even want to look at how my stocks are doing or should I say how much they have fallen. *Ouch*

  • Starbucks just announced plans to close 600 stores. You mean there will only be 5 Starbucks within a 2 mile radius of my house instead of 6?! Oh no!!! Read about it here.

  • The bf has this great idea of running in the Nike Human Race on August 31, 2008. It will be the World’s Largest One Day Running Event. Nike’s first global race will take place over the course of one day, with a goal of one million runners, across 25 cities and featuring 25 top musical acts. The 10k event celebrates runners and their sport, offering participants across the globe the chance to run and compete together in an unprecedented race experience. The race benefits various charities and will start at the LA Coliseum. Did I mention it’s 6 miles??? Did I mention I haven’t ran since 1995??? I hope the bf can nudge me across the finish line while Kanye West’s “Stronger” is playing.
