kim le’s korner #11

“bad girl”

I just realized today that it’s been 2 months since my last post of kim le’s korner. I know, I’m a bad girl. So much has been happening – I don’t even know where to begin! I have been furiously gearing up for wedding season and working on kim le photography goodies that I barely have time to breathe. I can’t believe March is almost over…where does all of the time go?!

  • I want to thank everyone who came out to support team Matthew. It’s not too late to see if you can be a possible bone marrow donor. Please visit www.teamMATTHEW.org for more information.
  • March is one of my favorite months of the year because of the “March Madness” that comes with it. Sadly my Bruins lost this past weekend, but I’m still ahead on my side bet with the bf, which is all that counts =P.
  • I went to my 10 year high school reunion earlier this month!!! I know, I don’t look a day over 15 =P. I actually really wanted to go. I was one of those ASB and Model United Nations dorks so I always had tons of school spirit. Unfortunately, only 50 people showed up =(. Nevertheless it was still fun and nice to see some familiar faces.
  • My first wedding of 2009 was this past Saturday!!! It was a 15 hour wedding extravaganza, really intense, but super fun and amazing. Blog coming soon!!! Congrats Lynda & Mike! =)
  • I gave up soda and shopping for Lent. I’m going crazeeeee.
  • I have a new show. I know, how can I possibly have any more?! I am addicted to Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo. I know, it’s superficial, but I think I want to secretly be Patti. She is just so blunt and reads people so well. Maybe I can offer a 2-for-1 service – I will hook people up and then shoot their weddings.

That’s all folks. Have a grrreat weekend!

“baby i love your way”

Michelle & Steven are expecting their first bundle of joy next month and I was honored to document since an exciting time for them. They already picked out a name for their baby girl – Hailey and I can’t wait to meet her! Congrats Michelle & Steven!!! See you guys and Hailey soon! =)

Here’s mommy-to-be with a beautiful mommy-to-be glow:

“sweet surprise”

Steven contacted me in February and told me he was planning a surprise proposal for his lovely girlfriend Jenna. I was thrilled when he asked me to capture the day after the big proposal. It’s such an honor to be a part of something so special for two wonderful people =). He decided to pop the question at the same exact hotel Jenna’s father had proposed to her mother. And the week before the proposal, he kept Jenna busy with friends so he could go to her parents’ house and ask for their permission! How sweeeeet is that?! You definitely scored some points there Steven =). Judging by the love and care Steven put into the proposal, I know that these two are going to take very good care of one another. And I’m sure the wedding will be well planned! =)

We met up at the Kyoto Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles:

klp launch party!!!

March 12, 2009

“circus”

February sure ended with a bang for kim le photography!!!! kim le photography hosted a fabulous party for close family, friends, clients and vendors to celebrate the official launch of www.kimlephotography.com on February 28, 2009. Over 100 guests gathered at Pop the Cork Wine Bar & Lounge in Anaheim, CA for the celebration and I was overwhelmed by all the love and support! I feel so blessed for doing what I do and sharing it with such great people in my life. I am seriously still on cloud 9 from everything that is happened and I am thankful everyday for the life and love I have.

On to the goodies! Lets just say when I throw a party – I throw a party! =) But seriously I could not have done it without the help of great people. Guests were treated with wine and hors d’oeurves catered by Pop the Cork Wine Bar & Lounge, chocolate dipped strawberries made with love by my sista, Homemade by Jenny shortbread cookies and Sprinkles cupcakes courtesy of the bf =). Here’s a peek of the details! Pink and brown KLP theme of course! =)

“how to save a life”

teammatthew

Hi everyone.  I’m writing this blog today for a dear friend of mine, Matthew, who I have known for almost 9 years now – since our UCLA days.  Although Matthew is younger than me, he has always been the one looking out for me.  Today, I share his story in hopes of helping him and inspiring others.

In June 2007 at the age of 26, Matthew was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and underwent chemotherapy for sixteen months until he recently relapsed in February 2009. Matthew now needs a bone marrow transplant to help save his life.  Matthew was actually in the process of planning his May 2009 wedding and his Fall 2009 return to Pharmacy school when he found out about his relapse.  Unfortunately his plans have now changed. and he is now fighting for his future.

A bone marrow drive is being organized for Matthew and others who may be dealing with Leukemia this weekend in Orange County.  Please take the time to stop by and register.  By spending a few minutes filling out a questionnaire and completing a quick cheek swab (no blood work necessary!), it gives Matthew and others a chance at finding their bone marrow match.  If you are a match, you could be giving the ultimate gift of life.

Here are the details of the bone marrow drive:

Saturday & Sunday, March 7-8, 2009 (10am-4pm)

Saigon City Supermarket (corner of McFadden Ave & Brookhurst St)

15471 Brookhurst St
Westminster, CA 92683

For more information and to register online, please visit www.teamMATTHEW.org.

“miss independent”

Lynn hired me a few weeks ago to take some photos at Rancho Los Alamitos in honor of her upcoming birthday.   Lynn is super sweet and super excited for her birthday.  Judging by these photos, she hardly looks her age, which shall remain a mystery =).

**Lynn – Thank you for such a fun session!  Hope you enjoy your special day missy!!!
