“dynomite”

Ok I have been a very bad blogger!!!! I have been shooting, traveling and of course eating non-stop! I just got back from an amazing trip to New Zealand…yes New Zealand and can’t wait to share those and tons of other pics!!!!! There are so many blogs to follow so please be patient and root for the Lakers in the meantime!

May was officially renamed as “May Madness” for me this year. I’m not sure if I really slept and if I did, I was probably taking pictures in my sleep. I shot 7 weddings and 7 other portrait sessions in May, including a special engagement session with Jenny + Fred. Like all of my couples, Jenny + Fred arrived at our e-session and immediately said “Oh Kim, we are soooo not models. We have no idea what we are doing!” And like I always say, “don’t worry, just be you and leave the rest up to me” :). Well somewhere along our shoot in downtown LA, they channeled their inner models and gave me some model and a whole lotta Jenny + Fred. It’s always so special seeing couples interact and just feel comfortable and happy together. I can’t wait for their wedding in July!!!!

Jenny + Fred have never seen the movie, but one of the first spots I dragged them to was the infamous bench park in “500 Days of Summer”. So I guess this shot was for me LOL. They promised me they would watch it! 🙂

The park is above this historic part of downtown called “Angels Flight”. We walked up a very steep staircase and decided to take this lil’ trolley down the hill on the way back. It was 25 cents to ride it down the hill and it took only 5 seconds. For shots like these, it was worth every cent:

I just love this second picture. I made them run (of course I did) and caught them at the end, laughing and just being themselves.

Next we planned to go to the Walt Disney Concert Hall and stumbled upon this interesting wall art on the way. This is why I love downtown LA – you never know what you will find…

On the way, we also found some great light. You know I love me some flare.
