What do you get when you combine a gorgeous couple, a Louis Vuitton dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, amazing architecture and a helipad?! A very, VERY happy photographer. I was in photog heaven during Melissa + Michael’s fabulous engagement session. Just when we were already having a great time and I thought the day couldn’t get any better, we somehow found ourselves on top of a helicopter landing pad in downtown LA at sunset. I felt so lucky to be sharing in this moment with two very fun + special people. Melissa + Michael wanted their engagement session to be a dressier, more high fashion version of their daily lives (they swear they are not this glamorous in real life but you probably don’t believe them after seeing them rock the photos below). I think we succeeded in capturing all the style + beauty of this couple but more importantly, having a super fun time while braving new heights together. After this incredible session, I am even more excited about their June wedding!!!!

 

We started off at one of my favorite places in downtown LA – the Bradbury Building. You might also recognize it from the movie 500 Days of Summer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We followed up the already amazing session with shots at a nearby high rise in downtown LA. I LOVE the fuchsia dress Melissa changed into:

 

 

 

 

And we somehow managed our way up to the very top of the building! My fear of heights didn’t stop me from taking in this moment! It was all very surreal and it took me a second to get back to work. I could have shot up there all day with such a beautiful couple and an incredible backdrop.
