Yes folks, I will be out of the office until March 10, 2010 and will kindly respond to all messages upon my return.  I will be spending the next few days at the annual  Wedding Portraits & Photographers International (WPPI) Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas.  I will be learning, networking, spending and hopefully making some money at the same time :) .  Yes, the things I must do for my job!!!!  If you are going, be sure to message me on twitter to meet up!  I will be lil’ Asian girl with braces and too many bags of things I bought from the tradeshow.

Check back to the blog next week because there are TONS of blog goodiness on the way.  Here’s a sneak peek of just SOME of the MANY things to come:

wendy & wes: wedding

April 2, 2008

“viva las vegas”

While in Vegas, I had the pleasure of shooting Wendy & Wes’ super stylish and super fun wedding at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. There was no cheesy drive-thru-chapel, Elvis impersonator or Wayne Newton song playing in the background – just the love & support of 100 family & friends who filled Wendy & Wes’ penthouse suite for this joyous occasion on March 22, 2008.

This was my third time shooting Wendy & Wes and I am always taken back by how perfectly matched these two are. They are blessed with tall genes (something I sure don’t have! =)), share a love of baseball, are incredibly sweet and genuine people, but most evident when meeting Wendy & Wes is this indescribable silliness and happiness they bring out in each other. I was the only witness when they shared their “first look” in their hotel suite and I nearly cried watching how much these two adored one another.

**Thank you Wendy & Wes for not only for letting me capture your special day, but also for proving that somewhere out there is a perfect match for all of us! =) xoxo, Kim Le**

I guess what happens in Vegas ends up on my blog! =)Wendy’s gorgeous gown:

So Wendy & Wes were contractually obligated to use the Mandalay Bay Chapel’s photographer for the ceremony, but I snuck in this shot as a guest =)

trashing vegas

March 30, 2008

“beautiful girls”

Shooting (and modeling for) the Leavin Las Vegas “trash the dress” (TTD) session was definitely one of the highlights of my WPPI trip in Vegas. For those of you who don’t know, a TTD session is a great excuse for brides to wear their wedding gowns one, two or even ten more times =), resulting in some creative, fun, funky, modern and whatever kind of portraits that a traditional wedding day doesn’t always allow for. Actually trashing the gown is not a requirement, but having a good time always is!

Miss Jonilyn, her gorgeous gown and the beauty of the Red Rock Canyon set the stage for a perfect TTD session. Thank you to the other beautiful models as well!

Here are my favorite shots of the day:

march madness

“please don’t stop the music’”

Hi everyone!!! Wow – what a crazy and fun week it has been for me! I spent all last week at my home-away-from-home – Las Vegas!!! I attended the annual Wedding Portraits & Photographers International (WPPI) Convention & Trade Show, where I networked with wonderful photographers, picked up some new gear and shot some amazing sessions. I think I slept a total of 30 hours all week but it was sooo worth it! Then on Saturday, I shot Wendy & Wes‘ fabulous wedding which was also in lovely Las Vegas. In the midst of it all, I managed to lose some moola at the blackjack tables =( and keep up with the real “ March Madness” in support of my UCLA Bruins!!! Bruins all the way baby! Then I rushed home on Sunday to celebrate Easter with the phamily. *Whew!*

Stay tuned for posts on all the madness!!!
