You may remember this wonderful couple from their lovely
engagement session. I met Chau + Kevin last summer and since then, we have shared coffee, Korean BBQ (see a trend here with my clients? the best way to a photographer’s heart is through her stomach) and many jabs on facebook . The truth is I LOVE getting to know my clients, even if I am the one usually getting made fun of (ahem…Kevin). The relationships I build with my clients are just as meaningful as the photographs I take for them. Chau + Kevin’s wedding was one of the funnest weddings I have ever been to. Even after 14 hours of (hard) work, I didn’t really want to leave because it was so much fun. I practically had to drag my assistant, David out of there (who by the way out of pure coincidence went to school with the groom) because he too was having too much fun. In the midst of the long day and all the fun, all you could really notice was how much fun Chau + Kevin were having together. There was not a moment that went by where these two were not kissing, laughing or smiling. You just know these two are going to have a long, FUN life together. Congrats Chau + Kevin!!!! Thanks for letting me have fun on your special day!!! Time for some more grub soon!
The first photo was actually taken a few months ago for a portrait session we did. Once again, I risked my lil’ life for my clients .
Now for the wedding day where we began with a traditional tea ceremony. Chau looked gorgeous in any outfit, including her traditional Vietnamese dress.
Time for some pretty portraits in between the ceremony and reception:
The reception was held at
The Villa in Westminster, CA.
The Villa has a wonderful staff and I always enjoy shooting there.
I L-O-V-E these ring shots
More lovely details:
Yes that is a rubber chicken. You should have seen what else they had planned. So awesome.
This is even more awesome:

I have known Andrian for almost 12 years now. We go waaaay back to our Bruin days at
UCLA. Andrian and I grew closer while we were Co-Presidents of the
Vietnamese Student Union during my senior year (please don’t google any photos – thanks). Since then, Andrian has given me routine eye exams, fed me Korean BBQ, made me listen to the Spanish radio and I have taken his poker money. He has always been such a good friend (thanks for the poker donations) and I knew it was only a matter of time before he made some lucky gal really happy. And that lucky gal came by the name of Jenny last year. When they told me about their engagement, I knew that the least I could do was give them some photographs to celebrate this wonderful time in their lives. They wanted me to enjoy their wedding last Saturday so I was only a guest. It felt weird being a guest, but I managed to have a really good time . Congrats Andrian + Jenny!!!! No words can express how happy I am for you!
We shot these portraits on a gorgeous day last month. They wanted me to wait til after the wedding to share. It was awkward watching Andrian display so much PDA but I got over it . And yes this is a beautiful heart shaped ring custom made for Jenny .
Happy Friday everyone!!! I have been DYING to post this Alice in Wonderland themed bridal fashion shoot I did last month!!! It was my first time helping put together a stylized shoot like this and I was nervous and excited at the same time. But, with a team of AMAZING vendors, our vision came to life so beautifully. We wanted to re-tell the classic story with a dreamy and whimsical fashion and bridal twist.
Besides photography, I was also in charge of casting and wardrobe! It was so fun to put on a few different hats for this shoot. We casted the incredibly professional and beautiful Lauren Olipra as our “Alice”. Her dress here was provided by the wonderful bridal boutique of
Jinny’s Bridal.
Lauren made such a stunning model. Her hair accessories was beautifully crafted by
The Treasured Petal Boutique and her hair and makeup were impeccably done by the always fabulous
All Made Up Team.
When I first approached Christina Wright of
Simply Modern Weddings and Helen Tao of
Flowers by Helen with the idea behind the shoot, I told them we HAD to have a tea party. And WOW, did they deliver?! We had the most AMAZING tablescape. Thank you to these fabulous ladies for their incredible designs and inspiration:
Um yeah…Helen Tao of
Flowers by Helen is amazing. She came up with this idea of floating floral teapots!!!
Seriously I almost ate these french macrons from
Layer Cake Bakery. I knew Christina would have killed me though .
The girls and I had a blast shopping for tea cups and other table items at various vintage stores.
Our twist on Alice and her books. Check out these STUNNING hair and sash accessories by
The Treasured Petal!
I just love the flying cards that
Simply Modern Weddings thought of!
One of my favorites of the day:
And today the photo shoot was featured on
Style Me Pretty!!!!!
Huge THANKS toStyle Me Prettyand our incredible team of vendors who worked on the photo shoot. I feel so blessed to get to do what I do and work with some many talented people!
Cylie Lyn + Grant and I were crossing our fingers all week prior to their wedding. It had rained all week and although rain on a wedding day means good luck in some cultures, I knew Cylie Lyn had waited and wanted this day to be perfect. All the planning and all of her visions came true on that sweet February day. No rain could be found, just tons of smiles and sunshine at the
Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa, CA. I had so much fun that day because you could just feel all of the energy and love for this couple around you. They showed that having a great wedding day is being surrounded by all of your loved ones. My absolute favorite part of the evening was the dance off between tables. I felt like I was in the movie Step Up or something. Cylie Lyn + Grant’s family and friends sure know how to get down! Thank you Cylie Lyn + Grant for having me part of your vision. May your days ahead continue to be filled with smiles and sunshine.
I met Sylvia from
Luci + Ernesto’s December wedding and I was more than thrilled when she asked me to shoot her wedding in August. I met Joel at our e-session and I soon learned that he is quite charismatic and quite good at coming up with his own modeling poses . These two made my job so easy with their laid back personalities and undeniable chemistry. Oh and did I mention they are also Bruin Alums?! I am so excited for their wedding in August! You will be sure that Joel will have many more poses coming your way!
As Takeo said so confidently in front of their families at their engagement party last month, “when you know, you know.” You can hear it, feel it and see it – they know. And these photos sure say it. Congrats Michelle + Takeo!
You may remember
Jenna + Steven’s super sweet engagement session I blogged last week. Well, drum roll please!!! This week it was featured on one of the ultimate wedding blogs –
Style Me Pretty! The blog is all about weddings that are pretty and chic and I was honored that they featured
Jenna + Steven’s engagement session since they hardly blog any engagement sessions . Much xoxo to
Style Me Pretty for the feature and to Jenna + Steven for their fabulous DIY!!!

I have to be honest – I have been sick, tired and feeling a lil’ overwhelmed lately. Both my mother and my body have been telling me to slow down. But, it is so hard do so when I feel like there is still so much I want to do. Sometimes I think my mind and heart move faster than life itself. While wallowing in my sickness today, I received the sweetness gift from one of my sweetness couples and it reminded me exactly why I don’t intend to slow down. (I might just take more Vitamin C and use more sanitary hand wipes). Please don’t get me wrong – it’s not the gift that inspires me, but the act of thoughtfulness that truly touched me. It is wonderful to think that my clients enjoyed their photos so much that they took time out of their day to show their appreciation. I am truly grateful for the endless opportunities to touch people’s lives and having happy clients inspires me to continue to do so. As they say in the NBA, “this is why I play the game“! I thought it was so appropriate that the earrings were stars – I always feel like the sky is the limit and the stars are within reach. Thank you Jenny + Andrian – your thoughtfulness and love continues to inspires me!!! I can’t wait for their “i do’s” in April! And for those of you that are curious, gifts like these do not result in me giving you six-pack abs in your photos. I put forth 110% to all of my clients’ photos regardless. This was a gift after the photos were delivered!
