Katie has done some incredible hair & makeup for some of my lovely brides. So when Katie asked me to capture her upcoming wedding, I shrieked with delight (I really did). It is always so exciting to work with others in the industry, but even more thrilling when you are capturing big moments for them. Katie is an amazingly talented business woman. If you want to see what I’m talking about, check out
Katie B Cosmetics. Oh and did I mention she just became a lawyer? Yup – she pretty much does it all. And let me say Shaun ain’t too shabby either. Just keeping up with Katie is a talent in itself . Katie + Shaun have amazing chemistry, ambition and style. They sizzle when they speak, smile and kiss. I really can’t wait for their wedding in November!
When these two told me they wanted to do their engagement session at the
Orange County Fair this summer, I knew that is was gonna hot and I’m not talking about the weather ladies and gents. I don’t know how they did it, but they managed to look hot and glamorous at the fair while having tons of fun. Special thanks to their wonderful wedding planner
Kelly Duprat for helping out during the shoot!
Katie did her own makeup of course. And it was F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S.
“everything”
I know readers are sick of me saying this over and over again, but I seriously love my clients. From the first moment we met over coffee, I knew I wanted to photograph this lovely couple and share in their amazing day. Jenny + Fred are warm, genuine and are always laughing and smiling. Photographing them never feels like work and I find myself wanting to hang out with them longer. I feel so fortunate to know such wonderful people. They were married on the 4th of July and while others were BBQing, I was lucky enough to share in the sweetest moments. Not to miss out though, we had our own lil’ fireworks show – see the fun pictures at the end!
Special thanks to the talented
Mr. Jason Huang for shooting with me again. Never feels like work .
I just love how the flower girl is looking up at the bride.
Now you know where Jenny gets her beauty from – her beautiful mother!
My heart melted:
While I was working with the ladies, Jason was working with the fellas:
Some of my favorites
Didn’t I mention in my last blog post that I always get the most beautiful bridal parties?! This wedding was no exception! And I just LOVE the colors Jenny chose.
Jenny’s hair & makeup looked flawless thanks to
Kelly Zhang!
I just love this photo captured by Jason:
Jenny + Fred sure know how to throw a great party!
A tasty shot by Jason a.k.a. Mr. Ring Shot:
Happy July 4th!

Happy Monday everyone! I wanted to start the week off with a very sweet story of my two very good friends. Linda + Vu recently got engaged and their proposal video is something I just had to share. Vu went all out in surprising Linda (and everyone else) with the grandest of proposals. Before you watch the video, here’s a little background on the amazing story! Vu picked up videography as a hobby earlier this year so he managed to capture it all on video without Linda being suspicious at all! Since he was young (or could remember), Vu wanted to propose to his future wife on top of a mountain. Finally after 9 years together (what were you waiting for Vu?!), he decided to propose on the day of the summer solstice this year a.k.a. the longest day of the year as a representation of the long life they have ahead together. So he told Linda that they were taking a trip to Yosemite with his family for fun. He had his wonderful family help document the whole thing and since he has been making videos lately, Linda had no idea what was going on until the big moment actually happened. This video will make you want to fall in love and hire a videographer or a very good photographer..*ahem, ahem* for your proposal. I didn’t admit this to them, but the video actually made me shed a tear or two. I have known these two for nearly 10 years now and I am so very happy to be a part of this special time for them. And I can’t wait to shoot their engagement session later this year! Here’s just a lil’ peek into their happy times. More happiness to follow!
I just love this two and after viewing their
super cute engagement session and the photos below, you will know exactly why. Virginia + Sinh are stylish, crafty and always full of laughs. They are so easy to be around, which was evident by the many guests present at their wedding. Besides I don’t know many couples who can make clown noses and giant bow ties look fierce like them. Despite currently living in Chicago and having to plan their wedding miles away, every detail was so carefully planned out. My camera and I were very happy on their wedding day – there were so many lovely DIY details and props. Virginia + Sinh really know how to throw a party!!!!
I love Sinh’s reaction when he sees Virginia for the first time in her wedding dress!
I heart bridesmaids with
JCrew dresses and cool mustaches.
Yep I’m pretty lucky. I always manage to have couples with such great style and chemistry.
This bunch was So fun.
I just love Virginia’s smile.
And Sinh’s fierce looks .
I swooned over all the floral arrangements made by
Modern Bouquet.
After their
HOT engagement session, I didn’t think this couple could get any hotter. But on their wedding, they proved me very wrong. Despite a 90 degree day in Malibu, Diane + Rudy were no doubt the hottest things that day. I can go on and on about how stunning this couple is, but the number of photos I just had to blog below pretty much says it all. Keep scrolling because this couple just gets HOTTER!
Special thanks to my lovely + talented friend
Jean Tsai for shooting with me that day. Jean got these sexy shots of Diane’s killer heels:
Did I not warn you this was going to be a HOT blog post?!
Diane got ready at the contemporary
Westlake Village Inn. She worked it E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E.
Ok I’ve been giving Diane lots of loving on this post. Time for Rudy to get some face time. And as you can see, he’s not too shabby either .
I never seen a groom work a bouquet like this. Thanks Jean for another sexy capture .
And the bridal party? H-O-T and F-U-N.
Um yeah. HOT.
And when they are not being undeniably hot, they are being undeniably cute…together.
Ok so I kind of developed an infatuation with Diane… By the way, Diane’s gorgeous veil was designed and made by her aunt! Talk about lovely DIY!
Peichi + Sothea were married at a lovely Japanese garden ceremony on a sunny afternoon in Los Angeles, CA. I was honored to be a part of such a special day for two special people. Peichi + Sothea are so wonderful together and what was even more wonderful is the overwhelming love + support of so many family + friends on their wedding day. Check out the beautiful setting and beautiful palette for their wedding day below!
Special thanks to Peichi + Sothea’s wedding vendors!
It’s funny how our first meeting came about. Gina had contacted me via email and I setup a meeting to discuss the big day with her and her fiance Marcus. When I walked into the meeting, I soon realized that her Marcus was actually an old coworker of mine during my accounting days! None of us knew what a small world it was! We laughed, talked about the glory days, joked about our UCLA-USC rivalry and of course their wedding day. I left that meeting with my fingers crossed that I would get to capture such a special day for such a special couple.
And months later we come to their beautiful day! Even a little (or a lot) of wind could not stop this day from being more picture perfect! Their wedding day was complete with charm, emotion and of course surprises. Thank you Gina + Marcus for letting me share this day with you and letting me share your love with the rest of the world.
This was the first scene I saw when I arrived at the wedding destination and I knew it was going to be a beautiful day .
These are probably some of my most favorite wedding dress shots ever mainly because we had such a gorgeous backdrop to work with. I saw this large room with a chandelier and fireplace when I first walked in and I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot the dress. I apologize in advance for so many dress shots, but it was so hard to narrow down!
The
La Venta Inn has the most charming bridal suite ever. I could have shot in here all day!
It really is a group effort to help a bride put on her wedding dress.
One of my favorite images of the whole day is this one on the left of Gina laughing. The moment is so natural and so Gina!
One of my favorite bridal party shots ever!
After I took this shot, I thought to myself, “wow I love my job”.
This is how I have come to know Gina + Marcus: super cute and goofy .
The cutest, sweetest details:
Ok I guess this is kinda cool . Gina + Marcus had the USC marching band come and play at the wedding. This is really hard for me to say (I’m still a Bruin for life!) but it was definitely one of the best parts of the wedding day. The whole room came alive and everyone was throwing up signs with two fingers?! and it was hard not to get swept up in the energy and emotion of the moment. Even my second shooter for the day, Aaron turned to me and said “man, I wish I went to USC”. Now I know how they get people to pay all that tuition . I kid, I kid. It was AMAZING and I did the 8-clap in my car on the way home to not feel so guilty for enjoying it.
YES that’s the groom with a guy standing on his shoulders! This was awesome!
And when I thought I couldn’t love the bride anymore, she did this!

Mui + Huy traveled from Sacramento to shoot their engagement session with yours truly. They love the beach so it was only fitting that we spent a gorgeous Friday afternoon there. It was the first time we met (they booked me via email ) and we hit it off right away! I think engagement sessions are such a wonderful way for me to get to know my clients and vice versa. Plus it’s a great chance for my couples to get comfortable with the camera, not that Mui + Huy needed it all! . Thanks to Mui + Huy for coming to sunny Socal to visit! See you in Sacramento for the big day!
