“fireflies”

I met Chau & Kevin over coffee last year after Kevin had seen some of my work posted on a friend’s facebook page. And who said facebook is a waste of time?! I really enjoyed getting to know their fun, laid back personalities. We also found that we had more mutual friends in common and a similar love for food. Definitely my kind of people :) .  I know their wedding in March will be just as fun!

We started off at the Mission San Juan Capistrano and boy were they working it already.

“love will find a way”

I just love running around with my couples. We always have the best time getting to know each other and having so much fun simply goofing off. I love Cylie Lyn & Grant for their contagious laughter and wonderful sense of humor. It was a treat just to see how much fun they have together as a couple. We had dinner after our Getty Center engagement shoot, had some more great laughs and talked about their relationship. Grant told me how he had given up on the idea of marriage and finding that certain someone…until he met Cylie Lyn unexpectedly a few years ago and everything changed. It made me smile and reminded me why I love to do what I do. I guess the best things in life are unexpected :) .  I can’t wait for their wedding THIS Sunday! Yes this Sunday! The first wedding of 2010 and it’s gonna be a great one!

“two is better than one”
It is always so exciting and humbling to have your work featured on other blogs. It really inspires me to do more and better :) . This week I have two wonderful features on two wonderful blogs!

The first feature is on the Wedding Blog by Wedding Bee. The blog is updated by real brides, where they document all the joys of wedding planning. It is a great resource for all brides. Some of my umbrella shots from Luci & Ernesto’s wedding were featured on the blog titled “Reasons to Want Rain on Your Wedding Day”. Thanks Miss Hot Wings of Wedding Bee! Read her great stuff here!

The second feature showcases Vi & Aaron’s engagement session on the lovely blog Ever Ours, a blog created by Lydia Yeung and is dedicated to all that inspires love and weddings. I am so lucky to be a part of such a beautiful blog! Thanks Lydia! See the full blog post here!

“listen to your heart”
The red heart shaped balloon just says it all: this is one cute, fun loving couple :) . Vi & Aaron are too sweet for words and I will let their cuteness & love do the talking here:

I usually don’t recommend couples to be too matchy with their outfits, but in this case, I think Vi & Aaron looked so casually cool and cute :) .

Here’s to their September wedding! I can’t wait! :)

“that’s amore”
I was so excited to shoot Gina & Marcus’ engagement session, despite them both being Trojans =P. Gina & Marcus are such a fun, sweet couple and I am so glad to have gotten to know them. I guess some Trojans aren’t that bad after all :) . Gina & Marcus live in downtown and Marcus had proposed to Gina in their fabulous downtown apartment so we planned our shoot around their story. I just love shooting in downtown Los Angeles – there are so many interesting, unique backdrops. We had such a great time and now I can’t wait for their wedding in May!

“look of love”
I had an amazing time with Virginia & Sinh as we hit up some of Los Angeles’ most picturesque spots. Little did we know that we had picked to have our shoot the same day as this year’s winter solstice. What is a winter solstice you ask? Well, a winter solstice occurs exactly when the earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun. And yes I looked up that definition on wikipedia. It marks the first day of winter and occurs on the shortest day with the longest night. And yes I looked that up too. The sky was incredible that evening and we could not have picked a more perfect day to visit the Griffith Observatory. Besides the breathtaking scenery, there is one particular moment that I remember so vividly from our shoot. As we stood on top of the Observatory, in awe of the gorgeous, amber sky, Virginia turned to Sinh and said in the cutest way possible, “is this what love looks like?” This made me smile. After spending just a few hours with them, I wanted to turn the camera around, show them what I had captured behind the lens and say “no guys, this is what love looks like”. So folks, please enjoy a little peek into what Virginia & Sinh’s love looks like:

We started off at one of my favorite areas of Los Angeles, Old Town Pasadena:

Did I mention that I LOVE my clients?! They are so cute. They come up with their own cute lil’ poses that are meaningful to them.

Virginia & Sinh totally have that casual, cool look down.

Next we moved on to one of my other favorite spots in Los Angeles – the incredible Griffith Observatory. Virginia & Sinh both play musical instruments (and both are convinced they inspired the other:)) so Virginia brought along her ukulele and Sinh brought along his guitar for our shoot. Aren’t they SO cute?!

“spotlight”

You may remember this gorgeous couple from their first engagement session in August. Well, these two were back for more and I couldn’t have imagined spending such a beautiful Southern California day with any other couple! We shot this session a few weeks ago (can you believe it’s this lovely in November?!), and I just had to post these engagement teasers today because guess what?! They are getting married this Saturday!!!! I can’t wait to see how amazing they will look!

Big, big thanks to the amazingly talented Angelina of the amazingly wonderful All Made Up Team. She did an incredible job on Lien’s makeup and I’m sure she will do just the same this Saturday! On a side note, I think I’m going to have to invest in a thesaurus because I use waaaay too many of the same adjectives in my blog posts. Sometimes I don’t realize how many times I say gorgeous, beautiful and incredible in one blog post. But, sometimes there are really no words to describe…*sigh*…I guess I just really heart my job! It’s so gorgeous, beautiful and incredible :) .

“somebody to love”

I’m BAAACK!!! But, not for long…I have another big trip coming up in a few days. Check back soon for all the exciting details!!!

In the meantime, I wanted to share with you Tam-Giao & Chris’ fabulous Los Angeles e-session. We hit up a record 3 locations in one day. I didn’t mind at all because I just love spending time with these two. They are constantly cracking me up and make it so easy to do what I do. Not to mention Tam-Giao always has some killer shoes on. Gotta love it.
