“gives you hell”

MAC down!!!!!!!!!!  I was in the process of editing my fabulous boudoir sessions when my iMAC suddenly died on me!  It just shut down and the power refused to come back on!  Maybe the boudoir sessions were sooo HOT, my MacDaddy couldn’t handle it! LOL – it’s important to laugh at everything, right?!  Anyway, after what seemed like hours of trying everything, I finally brought my sad Mac to the Apple Store where they diagnosed it a problem with the power supply and I have been separated from my MacDaddy ever since.  Of course I back everything up, so no worries on the loss of photos, but it’s been tough not having my workhorse available for my editing.  Plus my room looks so sad without it’s beautiful 24 inch screen. Hopefully he will come home soon…sigh….

In the mean time, I thought I would catch you up on the latest saga(s) of my life.  Ok not that interesting, but here are my miscellaneous musings for this korner:

  • May has kind of a not-so-great month for me in recent years.  I think I will hibernate for all of May 2010.  Thanks.
  • One thing I truly do love about May is the NBA Playoffs!  I am a basketball nut, especially a-fan-for-life of the LAKERS.  To be continued…I hope!
  • I am moving in 5 days AGAIN.  I counted and I realized that I will be moving for the 8th time in 7 years!!!  It’s crazy!!! I should just own my own moving truck.  Heck I should just live in a truck.  But then again where would I put all of my shoes?!
  • I had the best Memorial weekend.  No computer = unfortunately no editing :) .  Soooo I spent the weekend eating, eating and more eating.  And oh yeah I got in about an hour of activity by renting a beach cruiser with friends and zipped along the beautiful Balboa Peninsula.  It was one of those days, where you think to yourself “life is goooood“.  Summer is almost here and I *heart* summer and everything about it!  I love the brighter sun, later sunsets and warmer weather.  Plus I have some amazing weddings on the way and fabulous trips planned for this summer!!!  It will be one super busy, super fun summer!!!
  • Since I can’t edit any photos right now, I thought I would share our hilarious photobooth pic from Cynthia & Ron’s wedding I second shot with the lovely Sarah K Chen and her hubby Jeff.  Check out lil’ Ron sneaking behind me and Sarah’s eyepatch! LOL!  A full blog post of Cynthia & Ron’s amazing day coming soon!
  • cynthia and ron wedding photobooth

  • Ok enough with this korner.  I know you are just going to scroll down and look at the beautiful boudoirs again anyways :) .

“so amazing”

Ok here’s a quick, special edition of kim le’s korner. There’s a lot going on this Holiday season so we will have to keep this short & sweet…like me =).

  • Wisdom teeth removed on Wednesday. Slept for 24 hours straight. Can someone say chipmunk?. I love my sista & my momma for taking care of me.
  • Our Christmas tree is up. It’s real. It’s pretty. I heart Christmas.
  • Had 2 Thanksgiving dinners already. Another one coming this weekend. I heart food.
  • TV? No time. But “Gossip Girl” still rules. Can’t wait til January.
  • Saw Kanye & T.I. on concert on Tuesday. I feel bitter. I feel inspired. I feel so amazing. And I feel like drinking patron on ice.
  • My favorite thing about Christmas shopping is gift wrapping. Yes I’m weird.
  • Bought the book “Twilight”. Haven’t read the first page yet. Only a jillion pages to go.
  • “Love Actually”. The must see movie during the holidays.
  • More Kim Le. Coming soon. =)

“disturbia”

I know you’ve been missing it!!! It’s finally baaackk!!! There’s tons I can ramble about but I’ll spare all of you and just talk about a few things =P.

  • First, I have the news on and they are reporting Madonna & Guy Ritchie are getting divorced?! And yes that’s on the world news tonight!
  • Secondly, the Dodgers, like the Patriots (lost in the Superbowl), the Bruins (lost in the Final 4) and the Lakers (lost in the Finals!) are making me mad. They better win tonight and come back from their 3-1 deficit! Am I just cursing all of the teams I root for?! AHHHHH!!!!
  • Thirdly, I will keep my TV talk to a minimum this time, but I just want to say I am obsessed with Gossip Girl. I know 17 year olds drinking martinis at bars isn’t realistic, but it’s sooooo gooood and puts the new 90210 to shame.
  • Fourthly, my eyes are acting up again. They are severely dry and extremely sensitive to bright lights. I can’t even wear my contacts and the other morning it was hard to open my eyes. I must have like 5 different type of eye drops going in there and still they get worse again! My eye doctor told me I don’t blink enough and stare at the computer too long. So if I’m blinking constantly the next time you see me you’ll know why! Oh and if worse comes to worse, I will need something called punctal plugs for my eyes to create more tears. More tears?! I doubt I need that (the bf will agree =P). Maybe I should just rent the movie “P.S. I Love You” 10 more times. If you haven’t seen it, you must! It made me cry a river.
  • Fifthly (I doubt I am using the correct word here), I can’t believe it’s mid October already. Where did summer go?! I am diggin all of the Fall clothes though. I love all of the shades of grey/gray this season.
  • And finally, I am still in withdrawal from the most awesome concert I have ever been to! Sorry Justin, but Jordan was better!!! *Sigh* Photos to come!
  • Keep checking back for more posts, I have 2 baby/family sessions, 2 boudoir sessions to post and 3 weddings in November that I am really excited about! YAAAAY!!!

many xoxo,

Kim Le

“better in time”

  • I know I’ve been really bad with my korner talk lately. I’ve been so busy with wedding season in full force and all of my travels. I’m actually leaving today for another trip – heading to the East Coast for a phamily wedding & reunion! It’s gonna be fun and chaotic – typically phamily fun! =) So once again I will be away and will have to return all my lovely emails when I get back next Wednesday.

  • Quick reality recap: I knew Joshua was gonna win SYTYCD! I can’t believe Fanny Pak got booted off and SoReal Cru is still around. I don’t know why but I’m watching that “Date My Ex” show on Bravo with Jo & Slade – it’s so fake, but nevertheless it’s on my Tivo. My new addiction is “Flipping Out” on Bravo – very interesting to see them flip homes and the guy is so OCD! Whew!! And that doesn’t even cover the Olympics! A lot to say there, but all I have to say is that the Chinese gymnasts are not 16! They look too young! GO PHELPS! Ok, I’m done with TV talk – was that quick enough??? =)

  • Here’s also a quick recap on my wonderful trip to CABO with the bf. We spent4 relaxing days (*sigh*) at the magnificent Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat & Spa in gorgeous Cabo San Lucas. The resort was just amazing – it was like being a giant spa – everything smelled, sounded and looked great. The service was impeccable and the amenities were endless. Oh and you have to be 16 and up to stay there. I love kids and all but not really on my Cabo vacation! The resort was away from Downtown Cabo so it was very secluded and quiet. I loved it! We even napped on this daybed right on the sand and fell asleep to the ocean waves…*sigh* again. And then we had a couples massage under a hut right on the beach….*sigh*. I know, I have a hard life =P. So we had all these activities planned and guess what? I got food poisoning!!! Yup, I ate these really fresh yummy fish tacos at the marina and next thing I know I was going back and forth between the bed and the bathroom. So we ended up just relaxing around the resort for the most part – which was definitely not a bad thing! We did manage to squeeze in some parasailing before I got sick. I was scared – being afraid of heights and unable to swim is a bad combo for parasailing don’t cha think? But when I got up there, it was very peaceful and I kinda just took it all in. I feel fortunate to have such wonderful trips like these with such a wonderful certain someone that all the bad things that could or did happen didn’t seem so big at all. Anyhoo, with my sickness and the hot, hot weather and humidity, I got tired of carrying the SLR around so I didn’t come home with as many shots as I had liked. The bf got quite a few on his point and shoot but I have to filter those first and show ya later =). So here’s some snapshots! Here’s the entrance to our hideaway…yes another *sigh*…I can still hear the water flowing…
  • cabo

The gorgeous view from our hotel room:

    cabo

The bf parasailing – he reminds me of a monkey here =). Bye hun! See ya later!!

    cabo

The infamous Arch near Lover’s Beach. Isn’t the color of the water amazing?!

    cabo

And finally the bf snuck the SLR and caught this shot of me as I was meditating on Lover’s Beach. Ok I wasn’t really meditating – I sensed I was being watched by the paparazzi and decided to strike a pose =).

    cabo

  • I have oodles and oodles of bloggin to do when I get back – 3 weddings, a wedding rehearsal, an engagement session and oh yeah details of my East Coast trip, so please stay tuned! =)

“i kissed a girl”

To be continued…

virginia and brian engagement

On a side note, I have some good news and some bad news. Bad news first – you will have to wait another week for my korner talk! I know, I’m sure you are really gonna miss me go on and on for another week =).

But wait for it…. here’s the good news, (well for me and the bf at least =))!!! I will be out of the office for the rest of the week – the bf and I are leaving today for a vacation in beautiful CABO!!! One of my dear brides had to reschedule her wedding because of family conflicts and I seized the opportunity to turn my availability into some free time for myself. Work-life balance people! Anyhoo, I promise to return your emails upon my return =).

Have a great week everyone! I know I will!!! =P

“buzzin’”

  • Tuesday was more than just about tacos for me this week =). On Tuesday, the bf and I went to the Coldplay concert at the Forum. Coldplay’s set was incredible and made the even the run-down Forum light up. My favorite part was when Coldplay actually went into the top section and performed among their fans.

  • Now that “The Bachelorette” is over, my latest TV obsessions are: “ So You Think You Can Dance?“, “ America’s Best Dance Crew“, “ Jon & Kate Plus 8” and almost anything on the Food Network. Have you seen Jon & Kate Plus 8 on TLC??? Can you believe that this couple under 30 has 8 so-well behaved kids?!!! I’m sooo amazed by that show!! And I know what you’re thinking, “how does she have so much time to watch so much TV?!?” Actually, I don’t! My DVR takes care of everything! I got home the other day and my DVR said only 1% available! I was sooo scared! And my latest not-so-good-for-me-obsession is watching TV from 12am-2pm before I fall asleep. I know – it’s sooo bad, but sooo good!!!
  • This past weekend the bf and I went down to Coronado in San Diego for a friend’s wedding and some much needed R&R. We ventured to the beautiful Hotel del Coronadoand just enjoyed the relaxing ocean breeze and warm sand. Of course, here’s a pic of my flip flops in the sand:

“if i had eyes”

This week: short & sweet (like me=))

  • Ok I’m so sorry for being such a bad blogger lately but I do have a good reason!! I scratched both of my eye corneas a few weeks ago and it has been taking forever to heal. I have to wear my bottlecap glasses most of the time, have 3 prescription eye drops and still can’t be in front of the computer for long periods of time. Can you say workers compensation??? I guess not since I work for myself. =(

  • I promise this is the last post regarding “ The Bachelorette“, since the finale was last week =). I kinda had this feeling she was going to pick Jesse even though ABC tried tricking us as usual. I was happy for them for a second and then they got all cheesy and I was seriously grossed out, especially during the “After the Final Rose” episode where they were all over each other. They even set a wedding date already! Hmmm…I wonder if they need a wedding photographer… =) And I wonder if Graham will be invited and I’m there to take pics of his hotness…hmmm…
  • Hope everyone had a good 4th of July! All I did was eat, eat some more and then eat again. Tacos, korean BBQ, crab, hamburgers, you name it – I ate it – twice! =) Then we went and watched the not-so-great fireworks at my Alma Mater – Tustin High. Actually we parked at the local Starbucks and watched them while sipping our Starbucks Doubleshot over Ice. I was disappointed by the “finale” which only lasted about a minute. And there were no smiley face fireworks which are my fave. I guess we are in a recession. But then again I was too full to really care. My tummy was all smiles =).

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

“get like me”

I know you’ve been waiting for it….

  • Judging by last weekend’s weather, I take back last week’s kim le’s korner comment where I said it doesn’t feel like summer yet. Summer is definitely here.
  • I still can’t believe the Lakers lost so miserably in the NBA finals. I’m way more sad than I was when the Patriots lost the Superbowl. It didn’t help that the Celtics celebrated the entire second half of the game. I guess there’s always next year… *Sigh*
  • If you are behind on your TIVO – this is a SPOILER ALERT! Delirious Deanna kicked off gorgeous Graham this week on “ The Bachelorette“. This was my reaction when watching: “NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! WHY?????!!!”
  • Songs-I-use-to-like-but-if-I-hear-one-more-time-I’m-going-to-scream: “No Air” by Jordan Sparks, “Superstar” by Lupe Fiasco, “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis and “Sexy Can I” by Ray J. aka Brandy’s Brother – remember “The Boy is Mine” by Brandy & Monica??? I loved that song! And remember when Kobe took Brandy to his prom??? Yeah I know…I love taking trips down memory lane.
  • I can’t wait until 8-8-08. Just seems like it’s gonna be one heck of a day. Unfortunately it will be 4 days after I turn the big 2-8.
  • I’m super excited about an engagement session I have planned for Sunday! Pics to follow next week!!!
  • I’m still recovering but I already made plans to travel out-of-town this weekend for my dear girlfriend’s birthday. Wish me luck!

“read my mind”

Drumroll please!!! I’m starting this new thing on my blog called “Kim Le’s Korner“. The name has cheese melted all over it, but you know you love it =). So basically “Kim Le’s Korner” will be personal antedotes, random rants, girly gossip, and any other lil’ tidbits floating around in my head. I may be lil’, but I do have a lotta of thoughts! Or maybe I just have a lot to say and no one else to talk to =(. Just a lil’ warning – I’m not trying to be the next Perez Hilton or anything, but I do love me some celebrity gossip.

Anyhoo, Kim Le’s Korner will be served on a weekly basis so you betta stay tuned! Here is this week’s edition:

  • Favorite songs right now: “Forever” by Chris Brown, “Say” by John Mayer and “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay.
  • I can’t believe we are halfway through 2008 already. Remember when it was just Y2K???
  • 90210 is returning to TV. I was talking to young twentysomething girls last week who never even heard of 90210. Boy do I feel old.
  • I ate at this delicious and edgy restaurant called “ Craft” last week in Century City. (1) The head chef is Tom Colicchio from Top Chef. (2) They had yummy donuts for dessert. (3) I was scared of the rabbit tortellini appetizer.
  • I found my food twin. My friend Hanh does not eat ketchup either. She’s great.
  • My sister and I got NKOTB tickets last week for the October concert. No one else seemed excited when I told them except my sister. Weird.
  • I shamefully admit I’m excited to watch “ The Bachelorette” tonight. Maybe it has to do with Graham’s abs.
  • If you haven’t figured it out, all of my blog sub-titles are names of songs. This one was soooo appropriate!
  • My roommate’s 14 year old cousin told me where to buy the “shutter shades” for the Kanye concert. Boy do I feel old part 2.
