ching & james: wedding

August 27, 2009

“all of the above”

A few weeks ago, I received the opportunity to shoot with the wonderful Brian Khang for Ching & James’ beautiful summer wedding at the Pacific Palms Resort. Be sure to check his blog for more amazing photos. I am always thrilled to shoot with other talented photographers, meet new & fun people and visit gorgeous venues. This day was no exception. Ching & James were all smiles from the start.  They were at perfect ease throughout their wedding day – maybe that’s because they did such a great job on planning the entire celebration! Every detail was carefully planned out and in the midst of it all, they always took the time to make sure their vendors were doing ok. *Sigh*….I love summer weddings and amazing couples…

I just love “first looks”. It really puts the couple at ease and results in some amazing, spontaneous moments. Here’s James waiting for his beautiful bride.

amy & david: engagement

August 11, 2009

“something to talk about”

One of the many perks of being a wedding photographer is getting the opportunity to photographer people in love. What’s even more of a treat is photographing your friends in love. My lovely dear friend Amy packed up her bags two years and headed to the Big Apple in search of something new. After a short time there, she met David and it didn’t take long to see that she had found her something. Now I am happy to say they are engaged and getting married at the end of this month!!! During my recent trip, I could not pass up the opportunity to shoot Amy & David in New York City – the place where they fell in love and where they will start their happy & long life together. I’m just soooo happy for them!!!

I must warn you – there’s a whole lotta kissing going on here! I just couldn’t keep these two apart!

I swear there were times when these two didn’t even realize I was there :P . I was like “ahem:) .

Here we are at one of their favorite local eateries…I just love the fact that I can document memories like this for them!

And now back to the kissing…gotta sneak in a lil’ kiss before we headed to the famous Brooklyn Bridge!

I mean really – you can’t ask for moments better than this!!!!

“best i ever had”

I could not wait for my shoot with Luci & Ernesto! I met Luci & Ernesto a few months ago and immediately felt our Bruin bond :) . So naturally we ventured back to where these two lovebirds first met – the beautiful UCLA campus followed by the spot of their first date – the lovely Santa Monica Pier. It is always a pleasure shooting great couples, but it’s also an added bonus when I get to feel a little nostalgic for the day.

Judging by how much fun we had during our engagement session, I now cannot wait for their wedding in December!

mei & phong: wedding

July 1, 2009

“somewhere only we know”

It was only fitting that Mei & Phong were married on Father’s Day – their wedding was a grand celebration with their fathers as well as plenty of family & friends. Mei had everything perfectly planned for the big day, with help from her wonderful wedding coordinator – Paola of Just Chic Events. Despite all the events of the day (another 12 hour day for me!), Mei & Phong remained calm and more noticeably, just happy to be at each other’s sides. At the end of the day, all you could really see is how perfect these two are for each other and how much love they have for their families.

We started out with some getting ready shots at Mei’s house:

“i’m yours”

I was truly honored to be a part of Michelle & Tony’s wedding day. Their wedding day was not only about their union as husband & wife, but a wonderful celebration with family & friends. The day was filled with so much emotion, love and joy. I found myself smiling, crying and of course working all day :) .  Thanks to my second shooter Patrick!!!

*Michelle & Tony – You have such warm and fun personalities. Your love like your smiles are contagious! And I know where you guys get it from – you have the most incredible family & friends! Congrats!!! xoxo, Kim Le

annia & jordan: day after

April 14, 2009

“after all”

You may remember this gorgeous couple from their lovely wedding last fall. Annia & Jordan are so sweet and stylish and I was thrilled to be shooting them again for their “day after” session. Day after sessions are also known as “trash the dress” sessions. Don’t worry – you don’t actually have to trash your beautiful wedding dress. It’s really just an excuse to wear it again :) . I love day after sessions – couples are usually way more relaxed resulting in some really amazing and creative portraits. Check it out for yourself!

“now and forever”

Last month I got together with the wonderful team from In the Now Weddings to capture months of hard work for them and fabulous tablescapes for us! Amanda should seriously rename herself A-Mazing. I really don’t know know how her team comes up with all of these amazing ideas and details! Every table was so unique and stylish that I am inspired to possibly turn on the stove one day and throw a swanky dinner party complete with tablescapes!

For now, feast your eyes on these beautiful creations courtesy of In the Now Weddings:

kim le’s korner #11

March 27, 2009

“bad girl”

I just realized today that it’s been 2 months since my last post of kim le’s korner. I know, I’m a bad girl. So much has been happening – I don’t even know where to begin! I have been furiously gearing up for wedding season and working on kim le photography goodies that I barely have time to breathe. I can’t believe March is almost over…where does all of the time go?!

  • I want to thank everyone who came out to support team Matthew. It’s not too late to see if you can be a possible bone marrow donor. Please visit www.teamMATTHEW.org for more information.
  • March is one of my favorite months of the year because of the “March Madness” that comes with it. Sadly my Bruins lost this past weekend, but I’m still ahead on my side bet with the bf, which is all that counts =P.
  • I went to my 10 year high school reunion earlier this month!!! I know, I don’t look a day over 15 =P. I actually really wanted to go. I was one of those ASB and Model United Nations dorks so I always had tons of school spirit. Unfortunately, only 50 people showed up =(. Nevertheless it was still fun and nice to see some familiar faces.
  • My first wedding of 2009 was this past Saturday!!! It was a 15 hour wedding extravaganza, really intense, but super fun and amazing. Blog coming soon!!! Congrats Lynda & Mike! =)
  • I gave up soda and shopping for Lent. I’m going crazeeeee.
  • I have a new show. I know, how can I possibly have any more?! I am addicted to Millionaire Matchmaker on Bravo. I know, it’s superficial, but I think I want to secretly be Patti. She is just so blunt and reads people so well. Maybe I can offer a 2-for-1 service – I will hook people up and then shoot their weddings.

That’s all folks. Have a grrreat weekend!
